Design Gohl is a boutique architecture studio based in Denver, Colorado. The practice works locally and regionally on residential projects, providing architectural and interior design services. We create thoughtful spaces that balance beauty, function, craft, and the way our clients live.
Austin Gohl
Austin is an award-winning architect, proud father, and avid mountain biker and runner. He spent much of his early life walking jobsites, perusing lumber yards, and avoiding the ammonia-tinged scent of his father’s blueprint room—his father being an architect in a small Vermont town. These experiences sparked his appreciation for how thoughtfully designed spaces shape the way we live, work, and connect.
Austin honed his craft at top design firms in Denver and Los Angeles, including Rowland+Broughton and Marmol Radziner, working on single-family residences, municipal buildings, higher education facilities, and cultural spaces. Before becoming an architect, he spent over five years in international development, managing programs across Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. This background sharpened his skills in project management, collaboration, and navigating complex stakeholder environments—qualities he brings to his design work.
Austin founded Design Gohl in 2024 to bring a deep commitment to creating architecture that harmonizes beauty, function, and sustainability. He believes the best designs emerge from meaningful collaboration, thoughtful problem-solving, and a clear understanding of each project’s unique context and constraints. Guided by these principles, Austin approaches every project as an opportunity to craft spaces that are innovative, enduring, and uniquely tailored to the needs of his clients.
Our Process
Our process emphasizes early collaboration, clear communication, and careful coordination between design and construction teams. By aligning goals early, we help create cohesive, well-executed projects and a more predictable experience for our clients.
Whether reimagining an existing home, planning an addition, or creating a new space from the ground up, we focus on solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and budget, with transparency and care at every step.
